Misc CAD and Visualization » CAD Drawing Standards & Libraries

Chris has implemented office standards and CAD templates for two companies:

I. Weiss

As a consultant to senior management, Chris oversaw the implementation of an AutoCAD drawing standards library for this major theatrical rigging and drapery manufacturer. After collecting user feedback from staff and evaluating possible solutions, he recommended a series of improvements to the company’s system. He supervised the development of an efficient drawing workflow, staff best practices and a library of hundreds of hardware components. This task also included technical documentation and staff training. This system, in use since 2003, has allowed I. Weiss Project Managers to spend less time drafting and more time doing their job, as well as enabling their staff to make better use of their freelance drafters.

Thinc Design

Collaborating with staff designers on all levels, Chris developed an efficient, flexible and industry-standard standards library for this exhibit design firm. Chris managed the development of an AutoCAD drawing library and templating system that enables staff designers to generate AIA-standard design documentation that integrates smoothly with the variety of contractors, consultants and architects that Thinc collaborates closely with on a day-to-day basis.
