This piece was developed as part of The Drifting Encyclopedia by Zach Morris through a grant from the Black Rock Arts Foundation. In addition to fabrication, Chris developed the mechanics and interactive hardware for this piece, whose combination bird-like and flower-like form responds to a light controlled by visitors. Originally shown at the 2009 Burning Man Festival, it was also included in the Steampunk Haunted House in the Fall of 2009 (Slideshow on MSNBC.com), and will be on display as part of the Drifting Encyclopedia’s exhibit at the World Financial Center in New York in the Spring of 2010.
